Up-Close and Personal

Recently I was talking to a friend about photography when he said, "I like a long depth-of-field." "Ew," I said to myself inwardly.  You needn't have been around here long to recognize that I really dig close-up, as macro as I can get with a kit lens. The details enthrall me. Scrutinizing all the little elements that make up a thing send me into ecstasies. But, I have to admit that backing up once in a while can help you see the bigger picture, appreciate the larger context. Still, I prefer up-close and personal.
