Autumn Colour Week (Yellow)

Today is yellow, my friends, which is a perfect color for Tuesday, don't you think? Why does Tuesday feel yellow? It really does.

Autumn Colour Week! (Red)

It's Autumn Colour Week on Flickr and, I have to tell you, these are my favorite colors of all. I couldn't resist digging up a few pictures from my Labor Day weekend in Vermont. If you want to see more red, go here. And if you want to visit the genius creator of this idea, go here. Happy Autumn Colour Week!

Rambling

I've been carrying my camera everywhere with me lately, mostly for business reasons, but if I can get a few non-business shots in ... I hope you're all having a wonderful week!

Autumn

I haven't given Autumn a proper greeting. Hello, Autumn. I like you an awful lot. Will you stay a while?

German Village

I ventured into my old stomping grounds tonight, German Village. I spent twelve years in this old neighborhood, and, as a walking sort of neighborhood, was surprised to find that I still knew all the little shortcuts and details that I'd thought I'd forgotten. I felt myself irresistibly pulled into the neighborhood bookstore, wandering little rooms I'd spent so much time in years ago. The streets and sidewalks are all still brick, and I don't care how graceful you are; you will trip from time to time. Somehow that's reassuring, that the history of this little neighborhood is that persistent.

I live not far from railroad tracks and, have to confess, I rather like it. It's no passenger rail, but I still like wondering where things are coming from and going to. And who created the graffiti on the cars? Who travelled these rails, over the years? It's not the Orient Express, but who can resist the romance of a train whistle in the middle of the night?

If you like shots of train tracks, go see more here.

Random

It surprised me a little, at the end of the weekend, to see how many pictures I'd taken without going on some major adventure. Still, it's fun, waiting until the end of the weekend, when you'd somewhat forgotten what you'd seen, to start downloading files to see what you've got. It's a small way of building surprises into your day, and I'm awfully fond of little surprises, aren't you?
