Green Thursday

I love  green. Every  shade from celery to chartreuse to vermilion.  It says Go and Spring. It's filled with possibility. These are my entries for today's Winter Colours challenge, though I cheated a bit by grabbing a few images from seasons past, though the mossy woods picture was taken on New Year's Eve. The last was featured on Poppytalk, which tickles me. (I love the shot of the mailbox, don't you?)

Blue Wednesday

"Now here's something I can really sink my teeth into." I said to myself. I could easily post twenty pictures today, but I'd like you to take a look here at some of the other entries for the Winter Colour Week. It's really pretty inspiring. Oh, and tomorrow is green. Couldn't we dedicate a whole week to the color green?

White Tuesday

I have to confess; I had a very hard time finding inspiration for today's color, white. Not because I couldn't find any .... because there's too much. Alas, if you want to see a more inspired treatment of white go here. Even better, go here.

Red Monday

Hi friends, I've joined a new Flickr group called Winter Colours Week ... what a amazing way to take the drab out of winter, don't you think? To add to the fun, I've noticed some of my favorite bloggers have committed to the color challenge too.

Here's one. (Those salt and pepper shakers on the window sill? When I was a child, my mother used the very same kind when we went camping.)
And another.

Stay tuned for a colorful week!

Dashboard - Modest Mouse

A little Modest Mouse to get your weekend started. You'll also find me over here this evening ... oh, and a little celebrating for me, as you can also find me in here.

Happy Weekend!

Match Box

When I was little, I didn't really play with dolls. I played with match box cars with my cousin. This was particularly fun after it rained and we could make treacherous rivers, and bridges for them to cross. It was dangerous and exciting. The cars whose hoods you could lift to see the engine were the coolest. My husband recently received his childhood toys from his mother. It's funny I didn't turn out to be more of a 'car person,' but my options seem so limited compared to when I was about eight years old.

Inside

Indoor photography isn't my favorite thing, but with the temperatures fluctuating between six and ten degrees, I'm willing to explore it more. These are some recent shots that I just thought were fun ...

New Year, New Projects

I hope everyone is enjoying the new year, as young as it is. I've been down for the count these past few days with a horrid flu that completely knocked me off my feet, but I'm on the mend now.

On a lighter note, I'm excited about a new collaboration with some other ladies called the 365 Gratitude Project. Seven women, 365 thank you notes, one year. The idea is that sharing our thoughts on gratitude with each other, and you, can connect us better to how blessed we really are. Care to join us?
